“… they had their own thought processes.”

21 04 2008

Found this over at Folo and I about passed out.

Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood said at a press luncheon Monday that he’s unhappy about corporate ownership of news organizations in the United States.

He said he was not threatening litigation. He simply wanted to express his frustrations.

“Something that worries me more so than the war and Iraq and money in politics is freedom of the press,” Hood said. “Is our press free anymore? The corporate ownership of the press nationally is a concern to me.”

Wow. Don’t hear that from politicians everyday. He also said this:

“In the old days, you had the wire, so there was some centralization involved,” Hood said. “But you had mom-and-pop printing presses out there and they printed what they wanted to and they had their own thought processes.”

I’ll be honest with you. I don’t know anything about this guy.

I will say this though.

Those mom-and-pop printing presses have evolved into this nutty thing called blogs.
