The “Don’t Taze Me, Bro” Christmas Meme

16 12 2007

Squirrel Queen tagged me for this last week (and I think she started this as well to be different on another meme that was making the rounds.) but due to some borking here at Chez Coma, I couldn’t get it going. So let’s try it again.

Rules for the game include:

1) Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2) Share Christmas facts about yourself.
3) Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4) Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends.

1. Wrapping or gift bags? Both, actually. I’m not picky although I hate wrapping presents so you are getting a bag.

2. Real or artificial tree? SILVER TREE!!!!! Must be SILVER!

3. When do you put up the tree? Umm, It isn’t up this year as Squirrel Queen and I haven’t been home for more than five seconds at a time, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t cheerful. I will say that the commune does have a huge tree up.

4. When do you take the tree down? This is Squirrel Queen and Homer’s thang.

5. Do you like eggnog? I’m a boiled custard kind of girl but I do like Christmas Beer. Bass suits me just fine.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Gifts are joyful. I like getting them and getting them.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? I think there is one around here.

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Someone gave me a size 9 shirt one time. I love it. Unfortunately, I haven’t worn a size 9 since I was 9 and I was sort of bummed out by it. Then I felt guilty.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards? I send a few random email cards out. Snail mail is just an expense I can’t afford this year.

10. Favorite Christmas Movie? “It’s a Wonderful Life”

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? All year, I will see things I like and pick it up randomly, but this year I’ve been remiss. See Russ McBee.

12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Roast Beast and the variety of holiday dips about the house that we only make once a year. And Chocolate Oatmeal Drop cookies.

13. Clear lights or colored on the tree? White, actually. There is something elegant about them.

14. Favorite Christmas song? “Merry Christmas from the Family by Robert Earl Keen and “Carol of the Bells.” I also like Rupert Wainwright’s “Spotlight on Christmas.”

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We are usually all over the place. One year, I would love just to stay home.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Fred, Shecky, PeeWee, Rummy (that’s Rudolph, right?), Cosmo, Henry and LuLu.

17. Angel on the tree top or a star? Neither?

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? Both with different families.

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year? That people can’t seem to find the holiday spirit and get all martyr-ey. We should strive to understand each other 365 days a year, what’s one month for pete’s sake.

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color? Naa, it’s come what may, actually.

21. What do you leave for Santa? Scotch seems to suit him.

22. Least favorite holiday song? Little Drummer Boy and Grandma got run over by a reindeer

23. Favorite ornament? A Santa on a Rocket. It’s sort of fifties retro.

I’m tagging Glen Dean (who says he never gets tagged). Jack Lail, because I’ve never seen him do a meme.New blogger and my friend Stewman, Russ McBee, Big Stupid Tommy, Going Like Sixty and Brad at Pointless Drivel.

Have at it.

Yeah, I’m linking to some folks who might not do this, but it’s Christmas, share the joy, man.
