As I am a Lost fan (although much of my loyalty in the last few months has gone to Heroes), I’m glad that the writers are moving back to the beach. I became somewhat fed up recently, but the last two weeks have been better, and for this I’m pretty grateful because I was getting to the point of “Put a fork in me …”
But with Sayid’s story last week and then Claire’s this week, I feel like we are moving forward. I guess I have high expectations because the pilot to this series was so awesomely good as was the first season that I realize we are somewhere in the mid-point if the Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse do, indeed, have an ending.
Patience is hard for me (see post below.)
Anyway, as much as I dig watching Locke, the reality is he is an asshat on the island. I love the actor, Terry O’Quinn’s, portrayal of him, but sometimes he is such an idiot that it makes me want, as I squint at the television with my stink-eye, to whack him in the head with that cricket bat that took Desmond down a few weeks ago.
I think with Hurley’s story two weeks ago and tonight’s episode were about having faith, hope and changing one’s own destiny. Claire needed to put that opus (KC is so right) on that seagull’s leg to represent hope but it was a bit far-fetched and her self-righteous indignation was just sort of goofy if you ask me with Charlie and Desmond.
And I hate that Russian guy is gone. I liked him. He was a great antagonist for Sayid. Locke, on the other hand, guided by his own mission to, and I’m speculating here, kill Benry for destroying his faith (speculating campers, just speculating.)
The whole John Christian Shepherd thing seemed a bit contrived but I’m willing to give it a shot. And as for the looks on Kate and Sayid’s faces watching Jack play football playfully with Zeke/Mr. Friendly/Tom sort of made me happy. Here they are eating grubs and the 80th day of mangos and dealing with a freaked-out mysterious “I’ve-got-my-own-agenda” Locke, and they see Jack spiking a football.
So, I have one comment. Sayid is the smartest guy out there, so why isn’t he the leader? He is a hell of a lot smarter than anyone else on the island, Kate is a good ally as his partner because she doesn’t mind hitting somebody with the butt of a gun or kicking them in the face (they work pretty well together) and both Locke and Jack are irritating me because they are too busy fighting their own demons. And if they bring Bai Ling back, I will scream. Literally scream (worst Lost episode ever in my book.)
Oh, and I still miss the smoke monster and Mister Eko.
So I’m a bit more enthusiastic than I was three weeks ago, but I’m still wary.
Don’t toy with my emotions, Lost. I mean it. (I’m such a girl.)

I think Sayid is HOT. Far superior specimen than Jack or bad boy Sawyer. But Sayid… I feel a bit flushed. Oh my.

Then again, Desmond too. Sigh.

Sayid rocks! I tell my co worker every Thursday morning “I miss Mr. Eko”. He was the BEST character on that show. but there’s still Hurley and Sawyer…but if Sawyer doesn’t go back to his hilarious name calling…I’m afraid I will bore soon.
